Law Enforcement Protocols
Requests for assistance.
This channel is for verified law enforcement officials and valid legal process. Send requests to zerodateapp@gmail.com with [Law Enforcement Request] in the subject. This is ZeroDate’s designated law-enforcement request route. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, or unrelated personal information.
This mailbox is monitored by ZeroDate’s designated primary reviewer, with backup coverage in place when the primary reviewer is unavailable.
Verification and request details
Include the official’s name and role, agency and jurisdiction, an agency email address, a case or reference number, the account identifier, the specific records and date range sought, the legal authority relied on, and a secure return method. We may independently verify the requester and authority using publicly listed agency contact information before acting. We may ask for clarification or reject requests we cannot authenticate.
Legal process and preservation
We review each request for authenticity, legal sufficiency, jurisdiction, scope, and proportionality. A preservation request should identify the account, records, relevant period, legal authority, and case number. We preserve records when required by applicable law and for the period required by law; preservation does not itself authorize disclosure. We disclose only records within valid legal process or otherwise permitted by applicable law, and only to the extent responsive. We may challenge or seek clarification of requests that appear invalid, overbroad, or outside the requester’s authority.
Emergency requests
If there is an imminent risk of death or serious physical injury, put EMERGENCY — IMMINENT RISK in the subject. Explain the nature and timing of the danger, the person at risk, the account or identifier involved, the precise information needed, and why disclosure is necessary to address the emergency. Include an official callback number and remain available for verification. We prioritize emergency requests and assess whether disclosure is permitted under applicable law. An emergency label alone does not guarantee disclosure.
Response, records, and notice
We aim to acknowledge authenticated routine requests within five business days. Emergency requests are prioritized for review as soon as practicable, with a target of an initial response within 24 hours of receipt. These are operational targets, not guarantees; complex, incomplete, or unverifiable requests may take longer. We may ask for clarification and will communicate through the verified agency contact.
We restrict request access to personnel who need it to process the matter and document the request, verification steps, legal basis, decisions, records preserved or disclosed, dates, and communications. We notify affected users when appropriate unless law prohibits notice, a valid nondisclosure requirement applies, or notice could create a safety risk or compromise an investigation. We retain request records according to applicable legal obligations and our retention practices.
